Pune, October 27, 2025: The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) and the Indian National Congress held a strong protest in Pune against what they termed a corrupt land deal involving the HND Jain Boarding Hostel — an institution that provides educational facilities to underprivileged Jain students.

The protest was led by Pune City NCP President Prashant Jagtap and Congress Pune City President Arvind Shinde.

The protesters alleged that the hostel property, associated with the Jain Temple Trust, was being handed over to influential builders through intermediaries. The demonstration was held under the slogan “Let’s Go to Mama’s Village, Let’s Devour the Jain Temple,” symbolically accusing state authorities of collusion in the alleged deal.

Party workers and members of the Jain community gathered in large numbers outside the Charity Commissioner’s Office on Dhole Patil Road, expressing outrage against the BJP-led government’s alleged misuse of power.

The protestors claimed that the Charity Commissioner, who is reportedly a close relative of the Chief Minister, played a key role in facilitating the land transfer within just a few days. They demanded an immediate investigation into the matter and the reversal of the deal.

The event saw participation from senior leaders, office bearers, and local residents who joined hands to denounce what they described as an attack on community assets meant for educational welfare.
