Four Dead, Several Injured in Train Collision Near Bilaspur
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh (November 4, 2025): At least ten people were killed and several others injured after a passenger train collided with a goods train near Bilaspur railway station on Tuesday evening, officials said.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. when a MEMU passenger train travelling from Gevra (in Korba district) to Bilaspur rammed into a stationary goods train between Gatora and Bilaspur stations.
Bilaspur Collector Sanjay Agrawal confirmed ten deaths and said several passengers were injured. “The exact number of injured persons is being verified as rescue teams are still working to pull out those trapped under the coaches. At least one person is in critical condition,” he said.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with police, railway officials, and emergency teams deployed at the site. A constable at the scene said hydraulic cutters were being used to free trapped passengers.
A railway spokesperson said all available resources had been mobilized for rescue and medical aid. “All necessary measures are being taken to treat the injured,” the spokesperson added. Visuals from the site showed a passenger coach mounted onto a goods train wagon.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
