Young man working as government teacher’s son proves determination beats disappointment, secures 54th state rank in 2024 Administrative Officer exam

Omkesh Jadhav from Nanded has achieved what many consider remarkable in competitive examination circles. He cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission exam six times, finally securing a Class One officer position. His journey from initial disappointment to success offers lessons in persistence.

Omkesh is a resident of CIDCO area in Nanded city. His father Uttamrao Jadhav works as a teacher in a Zilla Parishad school. Currently, Omkesh works as a Sub-Educational Officer in the Hingoli Zilla Parishad office. His path to becoming a Class One officer was not straightforward.

The journey begins in 2019

Omkesh started preparing for competitive exams in 2019. He moved to Pune and studied on his own without joining coaching classes. In 2020, he appeared for the MPSC exam for the first time. He secured 126th rank but did not get selected for government service at that rank.

Many candidates might have stopped there or looked for alternatives. Omkesh continued preparing. In 2021, his efforts showed results when he was selected as a Labor Officer. This was his first success in clearing the MPSC exam.

Building on each success

In 2022, Omkesh cleared the exam again and was selected as a Sub-Educational Officer. He did not stop there. He cleared the exam successfully in 2023 and 2024 as well. In his fifth attempt, he was posted as a Sub-Educational Officer in Hingoli district.

While working in this position, Omkesh appeared for the Administrative Officer examination conducted in 2024. He secured 54th rank in the state. The results were declared recently. With this achievement, Omkesh passed competitive exams a total of six times.

He is confident that he will now get the opportunity to work as a Group Development Officer, Assistant Commissioner in the GST Department, or Deputy Director of Industries.

Educational background

Omkesh completed his primary education at Janata High School in Naigaon taluka. He then studied at Navodaya Vidyalaya till 12th standard. For higher education, he took admission in D.Y. Patil Engineering College in Pune and completed his engineering degree.

His educational journey gave him the foundation needed for competitive exams. The technical education from engineering helped him approach exam preparation systematically.

Family support matters

Omkesh acknowledges the role his parents played in his success. His father Uttamrao Jadhav and mother Suman Jadhav provided consistent support throughout his preparation years. Being a teacher himself, Uttamrao understood the demands of competitive exam preparation.

The family ensured Omkesh had what he needed to focus on his studies. They supported his decision to keep appearing for exams even after initial setbacks. The parents’ determination to see their son succeed matched Omkesh’s own commitment.

What Omkesh says about failure

Omkesh’s message to students appearing for competitive exams is straightforward. He advises them to continue their efforts regardless of what people say after failure. According to him, success will come if the effort continues.

His own example backs this advice. After getting 126th rank in his first attempt and not securing a job, he could have concluded that government service was not for him. Instead, he treated it as a learning experience and kept preparing.

Working while preparing

What makes Omkesh’s achievement notable is that he cleared multiple exams while already working in government service. After his selection as Labor Officer in 2021 and later as Sub-Educational Officer, he continued appearing for higher-level exams.

Balancing job responsibilities with exam preparation requires discipline and time management. Omkesh managed both, showing that current employment need not stop aspirants from aiming higher.

Goals beyond personal success

Omkesh states that his goal is not limited to personal career advancement. He wants to contribute to improving the lives of underprivileged, marginalized, and poor people in society. For him, becoming an officer is a means to serve effectively, not just a professional milestone.

This perspective gives his achievement additional meaning. The Class One officer position will give him greater authority and resources to implement programs that benefit vulnerable sections of society.

Omkesh Jadhav’s story demonstrates that competitive exam success often requires multiple attempts. His achievement of clearing MPSC six times shows that persistence, combined with learning from each attempt, eventually produces results. For thousands of MPSC aspirants in Maharashtra, his journey offers practical evidence that repeated effort can overcome initial disappointment.
