Ayushmann Khurrana & Rashmika Mandanna’s Blockbuster ‘Thama’ Set for OTT Premiere — Here’s When You Can Watch It Online
After ruling the big screen for weeks, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy Thama is now gearing up to entertain audiences at home. The film, which struck gold at the box office with its unique mix of humor, horror, and folklore, is all set to make its digital debut soon.
Directed by Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama has been praised for its inventive take on the vampire genre — blending an offbeat love story with Indian mythological elements. The film follows Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana), a shy journalist whose life takes a supernatural turn when he falls in love with Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a vampire from the ancient Betal sect. Their love story unfolds against the dark backdrop of a power struggle led by Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) — the ruthless Thamma, or supreme leader, of the Betal clan.
As Alok is drawn deeper into Tadaka’s mysterious world, he finds the courage to stand up against Yakshasan and the forces that threaten to tear them apart. The film explores themes of transformation, courage, and love beyond realms — all delivered with a perfect dose of dark comedy and spine-chilling thrills.

Adding to the excitement, Thama ties directly into the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), connecting threads from earlier fan favorites. The movie features special appearances from Nora Fatehi (from Stree), Sathyaraj (Munjya), Varun Dhawan (Bhediya), and Abhishek Banerjee (Stree 2), making it a grand supernatural crossover that expands Maddock’s growing cinematic universe.
The supporting cast includes veteran actors Paresh Rawal, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Faisal Malik, and Rachit Singh, all of whom bring depth and humor to this eerie yet entertaining story.
According to recent reports, fans won’t have to wait much longer to relive the madness — Thama is expected to drop on Amazon Prime Video around December 16. The film will reportedly stream in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. While Prime Video has yet to confirm the official date, industry insiders suggest it will likely be available for early rental on December 16, followed by a wider release for Prime subscribers soon after.
Interestingly, Thama also paves the way for the next chapter in Maddock’s horror-comedy saga. The film’s closing scene hints at an upcoming project titled Shakti Shalini, featuring Saiyara star Anit Padda in the lead — setting up another thrilling addition to the MHCU.
