Pimpri-Chinchwad, November 14, 2025: Seven years after the formation of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), the force has finally been allotted its own official component flag. The Directorate General of Police (DGP), Maharashtra, approved the flag earlier this week, marking a significant milestone for the commissionerate.

Officials revealed that the approval came following consistent efforts by Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, who actively pursued the proposal. The DGP office cleared the design on November 10, 2025.

Within the Maharashtra Police system, each district and commissionerate is authorised to use a component flag—an emblem that represents its identity—especially during the Maharashtra Police Duty Meet and various state-level competitions. Despite being carved out from Pune City Police and Pune Rural Police on August 15, 2018, the PCPC had been functioning without its own flag.

Recognising this gap, Commissioner Choubey drafted a design and submitted it for consideration. After a detailed review, the state police headquarters granted formal approval.

Significance of the Flag
The newly approved flag will now serve as a symbol of pride, unity, and recognition for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. It reinforces the commissionerate’s distinct identity during official parades, ceremonies, and competitive police events.

For the PCPC, this approval also reflects the commissionerate’s administrative maturity and growing prominence since its establishment.
