Pune: Maharashtra Scholarship Exam For Grade 5 And 8 To Be Held On February 22, 2026
Pune, November 25, 2025: The Maharashtra State Examinations Council has announced a change in the schedule for the upcoming scholarship examinations. The exams for primary (5th standard) and secondary (8th standard) students will now be conducted on February 22, 2026, across all districts in the state on a single day.
Originally, the scholarship exams were slated to be held alongside the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on February 8, 2026. However, many primary and secondary teachers in Maharashtra are expected to appear for the CTET, which prompted the state examination authority to revise the scholarship exam dates to avoid any conflict.
The council has emphasized that the rescheduled date applies to all districts uniformly, ensuring students have adequate preparation time. Schools and examination centers have been requested to update their schedules accordingly and communicate the changes to students and parents.
Parents and guardians have been advised to make necessary arrangements for students to appear for the exams on the new date. The council also urged schools to ensure that students are informed about the rescheduled exam well in advance.
The Maharashtra State Examinations Council has officially notified the date change and requested all concerned parties to take note. Students appearing for the scholarship exams are encouraged to continue their preparation for the revised schedule.
