After cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal postponed their wedding due to a health emergency involving Smriti’s father, social media has been flooded with unverified claims — including allegations that Palash cheated on Smriti. Now, Palash’s cousin has stepped forward to defend him, urging people not to jump to conclusions.

Family Member Speaks Up

The speculation grew after an Instagram user, Mary D’Costa, shared screenshots online claiming they were private chats with Palash. Though the original account has since disappeared, the screenshots continue to circulate, fueling the rumours.

Amid this, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, posted a message on Instagram requesting people not to judge him based on “technology-driven rumours.” She wrote, “Palash is going through a critical condition today. You should not judge him without knowing the truth. Technology has gone far ahead of humans — please don’t believe rumours. Pray for him.”

Palash is currently admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. His sister, Palak Muchhal, recently confirmed the wedding postponement and requested privacy for both families.

Why the Wedding Was Postponed

The couple was set to marry on November 23. However, on the wedding day, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suddenly fell ill and was taken to a hospital in Sangli after experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack.

A day later, Palash himself was also hospitalised due to stress. Palash’s mother told Hindustan Times that he was extremely emotional after Smriti’s father fell ill and insisted that they pause the wedding rituals until he recovered. She added that Palash cried so much that he became unwell and required medical care, including IV fluids and diagnostic tests.

Although his reports were normal, doctors said he was under significant stress.

Couple’s Relationship

Smriti has now removed all wedding-related posts from her Instagram, raising more questions among fans. Smriti and Palash have been together since 2019. They kept their relationship private for years and made it public only in July 2024 with a five-year anniversary post.
