A minor brush between a scooter and an SUV on a busy Kharadi stretch escalated into a violent road-rage attack on Wednesday evening, leaving a 35-year-old IT consultant hospitalised with a stab wound.

Police said the incident began when the SUV’s side mirror grazed the consultant’s scooter as he was heading to a tuition class. The driver stopped and confronted him, abusing and pushing him. The situation worsened when the woman travelling with the driver stepped out and joined in the assault.

According to officers, the driver then returned to his vehicle, pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim below the right shoulder before fleeing with the woman. The injured techie reached a private hospital where doctors confirmed a serious but stable condition. His formal complaint was registered the next day.
