Pune: School Bus with Fake Number Plate Seized During Inspection Drive By RTO; FIR Registered at Baner Police Station
Pune, December 18, 2025: Under the guidance of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Archana Gaikwad, Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale, and Assistant Regional Transport Officer Yuvraj Patil, a special school bus inspection drive was conducted on December 16, 2025, as per official orders.
During the inspection, Road Safety Squad–02 seized a school bus found operating with a fake number plate, raising serious concerns over student safety and compliance with transport regulations. Following the seizure, an FIR was registered against the vehicle at Baner Police Station.
The action was taken as part of a routine yet strict enforcement drive aimed at ensuring the safety of schoolchildren and preventing violations of transport laws. Officials stated that such checks are essential to curb illegal practices and to ensure that school buses adhere to all mandatory safety and registration norms.
The inspection and enforcement action were carried out by members of Road Safety Squad–02, including Smita Kole (Motor Vehicle Inspector), Tripti Patil (Motor Vehicle Inspector), Kanchan Aware (Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector), and Shubham Patil (Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector).
Transport authorities reiterated that strict action will continue against vehicles found violating rules, especially those involved in student transport. Parents and school managements have been urged to ensure that buses used for ferrying children are properly registered and fully compliant with safety regulations.
