With the festive season approaching, knowing when banks will be closed is crucial to avoid unnecessary trips. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official holiday list, several bank holidays are scheduled this month, both nationwide and in specific states.

Starting from 18th December 2025, banks in certain states will observe holidays due to local festivals and observances. State-wise and national holidays may affect banking services, though online and digital payment services will continue to operate. Here’s a detailed breakdown:

18th December (Thursday)

Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed in observance of the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.

19th December (Friday)

In Goa, all government and private banks will remain closed for Goa Liberation Day. Online banking services will continue to operate.

20th December (Saturday)

Banks in Sikkim will remain closed for local festivals, Losoong and Namsoong.

21st December (Sunday)

All banks across the country will be closed for their regular weekly holiday.

22nd December (Monday)

Sikkim banks will again remain closed due to the continuation of the Losoong and Namsoong festivals, resulting in three consecutive days of closure from 20th to 22nd December.

24th December (Wednesday)

Banks in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram will be closed for Christmas Eve.

25th December (Thursday)

All banks nationwide will be closed in celebration of Christmas.

26th December (Friday)

In Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram, banks will remain closed for Christmas.

27th December (Saturday)

Banks will be closed due to the fourth Saturday of the month.

28th December (Sunday)

Banks will be closed for their weekly holiday.

In Meghalaya, banks will be closed in honor of freedom fighter U Kiyang Nangbah’s death anniversary.

Bank Holidays in Maharashtra
