Pune: 40-year-old man booked for harassing minor in Chandan NagarĀ
Pune, December 19, 2025: Chandannagar police booked a 40-year-old man for allegedly harassing a seven-year-old girl at his residence in Borate Vasti area. The accused allegedly lured the child under the pretext of playing a game while his wife was away. The accused’s wife runs coaching classes for children. The accused has been identified as Alim Shikalgar of Chandannagar.
The police stated that the incident took place between 9am and 11am on December 13. The accused took advantage of his wifeās absence and called the minor and her friend to his house for their regular class. The accused sent the victimās friend to her grandmotherās house. He then allegedly tied a pink scarf around the seven-year-old victimās eyes, stating that they were going to play a blindfolded game.
Police stated that during the game, Shikalgar gave the girl a few apple slices, guava, chocolate syrup, and chocolate to taste. He then asked the girl to remove her clothes under the guise of the game. The accused touched the girl inappropriately.
Traumatised by the incident the girl ran away from the place but only told her mother two days after the incident. The girl’s mother informed the police about the incident and filed a case against the accused.
He has been under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
