Pune, December  31, 2025: In an effort to strengthen public involvement during Road Safety Week, the Pune Traffic Police organized a citizens’ dialogue meeting to discuss ways to enhance community participation in road safety initiatives. The meeting was held on December 29, 2025, at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) headquarters in Yerwada.

The interaction took place in the presence of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, who emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in reducing road accidents and improving traffic discipline across the city.

Residents from different parts of Pune, along with members of various citizens’ forums, actively participated in the discussion. Suggestions focused on increasing awareness campaigns, encouraging responsible driving behavior, involving educational institutions, and strengthening cooperation between citizens and traffic authorities during Road Safety Week.

Senior traffic police officials highlighted that public participation plays a crucial role in making road safety campaigns effective. They noted that while enforcement is necessary, long-term change can only be achieved through awareness, education, and community engagement.

The officials also assured participants that constructive suggestions shared during the meeting would be considered while planning upcoming road safety initiatives. The session concluded with an appeal to citizens to actively support traffic police efforts and act as ambassadors of road safety within their respective neighborhoods, contributing to safer roads across Pune city.
