BJP Unveils Strong Team For Prabhag 19, Promises Smart And Inclusive Development In Kondhwa–Kausarbaug
As preparations intensify for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for Prabhag 19, covering Kondhwa Khurd and Kausarbaug. With a clear focus on development, infrastructure, and smart urban planning, the BJP team has set out an ambitious agenda to transform the ward into a cleaner, better-connected, and more livable part of Pune.
The party has fielded four candidates across the four ward segments—19 A, B, C, and D—each bringing years of social work experience and deep roots in the local community. Together, they aim to address long-pending civic issues while preparing Kondhwa–Kausarbaug for future growth.
Noor Fatima Hussain Khan – Ward 19 (A) – Sr.No.1
Noor Fatima Hussain Khan, a B.Com graduate with a strong background in social work, is contesting from Ward 19 A. She has been actively involved in community service alongside her father, Hussain Issaq Kak, who has been engaged in social work in Kausarbaug and Anjuman Park for the past 16 years. Their work includes helping residents obtain voter ID cards, promoting education, encouraging sports activities, and supporting women empowerment initiatives. Noor Fatima Khan’s campaign focuses on inclusive development, ensuring that basic civic facilities reach every section of society.
Supriya Satish Shinde- Ward 19 (B) – Sr.No.2
A long-time resident of Kondhwa, Supriya Satish Shinde has been working at the grassroots level for over 20 years. She is known for leading a 40-day protest demanding better cleanliness and waste management in the area. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she actively supported residents by coordinating relief and assistance. Her key priorities include improving traffic management, ensuring clean and potable drinking water, strengthening waste management systems, repairing damaged roads, and pushing for effective slum rehabilitation. Shinde says her goal is to provide practical solutions to everyday problems faced by Kondhwa residents.
Satpal Ramchandra Parge – Ward 19 (C) – Sr.No.3
Satpal Ramchandra Parge brings with him a legacy of nearly four decades of community service in Kondhwa, following in the footsteps of his father, Bhausaheb Parge. Over the years, Parge has been involved in organising health camps, cleanliness drives, and tree plantation programmes. Highlighting the rapid increase in Kondhwa’s population, he has raised concerns about traffic congestion from Lulla Nagar to Sheetal Petrol Pump, along with persistent drainage, water supply, and streetlight issues. His campaign focuses on strengthening basic infrastructure to match the area’s growing needs.
Amar Kailas Gavhane- Ward 19 (D) – Sr.No.4
Representing Ward 19 D, Amar Kailas Gavhane continues a family tradition of public service spanning over 40 years. His grandfather, Dattatray Gavhane, established the Shiv Nagari Patsanstha, while the family also played a key role in setting up the Rajmata Jijau School. Amar Gavhane highlighted several development works carried out through self-funded water boosters and completed road projects. He pointed out that after Kondhwa was merged into the PMC, the area remained underdeveloped for years. With support from BJP MLC Yogesh Tilekar, funds worth Rs 1.50 crore were sanctioned for the construction and development of a DP road in Shivneri Nagar. Gavhane also raised concerns about overhead water tanks constructed earlier that are still not operational, stressing the need to ensure existing infrastructure is actually put to use.
Vision For Smart Kondhwa
Collectively, the BJP candidates have promised a development-driven approach focused on smart infrastructure, efficient water supply, better roads, improved waste management, and safer neighbourhoods. Emphasising planned growth and accountability, the team says their aim is not just to announce projects, but to complete them on the ground. As the PMC elections 2026 approach, the BJP’s Prabhag 19 candidates are positioning themselves as a united team committed to transforming Kondhwa–Kausarbaug into a smart, well-planned, and people-friendly ward.
