Weather Alert: Change in Wind Pattern Across Maharashtra; IMD Issues Advisory for January 13
Maharashtra | January 12: A shift in wind patterns has been observed across Maharashtra, and weather conditions are expected to change over the next 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to impact weather conditions in parts of South India, with its indirect effect being felt in Maharashtra as well.
As a result, some regions of the state may experience partly cloudy skies and light rainfall, leading to a slight rise in temperatures and a marginal reduction in the intensity of winter. Here is a detailed weather forecast for Maharashtra on January 13.
Coastal Maharashtra Weather Update
In Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy. Maximum temperatures are likely to range between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may hover between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius.
The possibility of rainfall remains low; however, light morning mist or fog may be seen in some areas. Mumbai is expected to experience dry and pleasant weather throughout the day.
North Maharashtra Weather Forecast
Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar are expected to continue experiencing colder conditions. Minimum temperatures may drop to 10–14 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures are likely to stay between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Skies will range from clear to partly cloudy, with dense morning fog likely in several locations, potentially affecting visibility.
Marathwada Region Weather
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Parbhani, and Dharashiv districts will continue to feel the winter chill. Minimum temperatures are forecast between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures ranging from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry, though isolated light showers cannot be ruled out. Morning fog and cold winds are likely.
Vidarbha Weather Alert
In Nagpur, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Gondia, the cold spell is expected to intensify further. Minimum temperatures may fall to 8–12 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures will range between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Dense fog during early morning hours and chilly winds are expected, and cold wave-like conditions may develop in isolated areas.
Overall Maharashtra Weather Outlook
Overall, winter conditions will persist across Maharashtra. However, due to light rainfall activity in southern regions, a slight increase in temperatures is possible. The IMD has advised farmers, commuters, and citizens to take necessary precautions, wear warm clothing during morning hours, and remain alert to changing weather conditions.
