Pune: Vadgaon Sheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare Raises Wagholi Water Crisis Issue, Seeks Funds For Oxygen Pipeline At Lohgaon Hospital At DPDC Meeting
Pune | February 12, 2026: During the Pune District Annual Plan meeting held at the Pune Vidhan Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MLA Bapusaheb Pathare strongly raised key civic and healthcare issues concerning the Vadgaonsheri legislative constituency, urging the state government to take immediate and concrete action.
Highlighting the severe water scarcity affecting Wagholi and 10 surrounding villages, Pathare demanded the convening of a special review meeting to implement a dedicated and permanent water supply scheme for the region. He stressed that the growing population and rapid urbanisation have worsened the water crisis, making long-term infrastructure planning essential to ensure reliable drinking water supply.
In the healthcare sector, Pathare focused on strengthening facilities at the Lohgaon Sub-District Hospital, underlining the urgent need for a modern oxygen pipeline system to improve emergency and critical care services. He formally sought ₹6 crore funding from the District Planning and Development Committee (DPDC) for the project, stating that the upgrade would significantly enhance patient care capacity and preparedness for medical emergencies.
The MLA stated that these demands were presented to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Sunetra Pawar, expressing confidence that the state government would take early and positive decisions on both the Wagholi water supply project and the oxygen pipeline installation at the Lohgaon hospital.
“The water crisis in Wagholi and surrounding villages requires a permanent solution, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure at Lohgaon Sub-District Hospital is equally critical. I am confident that the government will respond positively and take timely decisions on both these priority issues,” Pathare said.
The intervention reflects growing pressure on the administration to address basic civic infrastructure and public health facilities in fast-developing areas of Pune district, where rapid urban growth has outpaced essential services.
