Pune, February 12, 2026: The Sinhagad Road Regional Office of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday carried out a joint demolition drive to remove encroachments from a water supply department project site at Vadgaon Budruk.

The action was undertaken at Survey No. 41 near WSTP on Sinhagad College Road, where unauthorized permanent structures, including houses, sheds and hotels, had come up on approximately 50,243 square feet of land earmarked for the water supply project.

The demolition drive was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Municipal Commissioner Vijaykumar Waghmode (Sinhagad Road Regional Office) and Assistant Municipal Commissioner (Encroachment) Prakash Balgude. Other key officials present included Executive Engineer (Water Supply/Project) Bhimrao Pawar, Deputy Engineers Rajendra Thorat, Rajesh Khade and Bhavana Jadhkar, and Junior Engineer Mayur Gedam.

Divisional Encroachment Officers Umesh Narule and Sanjay Kumbhar, along with Assistant Encroachment Inspectors Abhilash Kamble, Pranit Dodewar and Madhav Bahiram, were also part of the operation.

The civic body deployed six encroachment police personnel, 14 labourers, two JCB machines, two gas cutters, two open trucks and two cage vehicles to carry out the demolition. The Sinhagad Road Police Station provided security support during the drive.

Officials said the operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Encroachment) Ramesh Shelar and Superintendent Engineer (Water Supply) Lalit Bendre.
