Pune Spa Raid Tragedy: Woman Dies After Jumping From 2nd Floor During Police Action at Spa Centre in Viman Nagar
Pune: A shocking incident has come to light from the Viman Nagar area of Pune, where a woman lost her life during a police raid at a spa centre allegedly operating an illegal prostitution racket.
According media reports, a raid was conducted at Roots Spa in Viman Nagar after officials received confidential information that immoral activities were being carried out under the guise of a spa business. The operation was carried out in the evening following proper planning.
As soon as the police team entered the premises, chaos broke out inside the spa. In a moment of panic, a woman and the spa’s manager allegedly jumped from a rear window of the building in an attempt to escape. The woman sustained critical injuries in the fall and was declared dead before she could be admitted to hospital. The spa manager was seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
Police officials immediately sealed the area after the incident and carried out a panchnama. CCTV footage from the premises and surrounding area is being examined as part of the investigation. Authorities are also probing the exact nature of activities taking place inside the spa centre.
The incident has triggered panic and outrage in the Viman Nagar area and has once again raised serious concerns about illegal businesses operating under the cover of spa and massage centres in the city. While Pune police have previously taken action against such establishments, a death occurring during a raid has made this case particularly serious.
