Pune: RTO Officials’ Quick Response Ensures Golden Hour Treatment For Two Injured In Container–Tempo Traveller Crash Near Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza
Pune, March 8, 2026: Two people were seriously injured after a container truck collided with a tempo traveller near the Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza on Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 6:30 am on March 6, 2026, on the Pune–Kolhapur Highway, when officials from the Regional Transport Office Pune were carrying out a routine inspection in the area. During the inspection, authorities noticed that the collision had left two individuals severely injured.
Acting swiftly, the injured victims were rushed to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital within the critical golden hour to ensure immediate medical treatment.
Hospital authorities stated that one victim suffered injuries to the ribs and leg, while the other sustained serious injuries to the nose, head and leg. Doctors confirmed that both injured persons are currently stable.
The rescue and emergency response were handled by Road Safety Team No. 1 of the RTO, with officials Motor Vehicle Inspector Sameer Shirodkar, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Deepika Sikandar Kalwale, and driver Sharad Jagtap present on duty.
Authorities have initiated further inquiries to determine the exact cause of the accident.
