OTP Verification Now Mandatory For LPG Cylinder Delivery In Pune
Pune, March 16, 2026: Domestic LPG cylinders in Pune district will now be distributed only through an OTP-based verification system, and delivery must be completed within 96 hours of booking, according to directions issued by District Collector Jitendra Dudi.
The instructions were given during a meeting held at the district collector’s office with representatives of oil companies and gas agencies operating in Pune district.
Officials were directed that domestic gas cylinders should be supplied strictly through the OTP system to ensure transparency and proper delivery. Oil companies and distributors were also instructed to stop direct distribution of cylinders from warehouses, gas agencies, or any other locations.
Gas agencies have been asked to place visible signboards outside their offices and warehouses informing customers that gas cylinders will be delivered only through OTP verification within 96 hours at their doorstep.
In addition, all gas agencies have been directed to send SMS notifications to their registered customers, informing them that cylinders will be delivered only via OTP verification and requesting them not to crowd outside gas agencies.
The administration has made it mandatory for distributors to complete home delivery within 96 hours after a booking is made.
Collector Dudi also stated that strict action will be taken against anyone who attempts to obstruct the legally mandated cylinder distribution process. The police administration has been instructed to ensure that the delivery system functions smoothly without disruptions.
