Pune, March 26, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has restricted construction and excavation activities across the city to 14 hours a day, following growing concerns among residents over pollution and health issues.
As per a directive issued on Wednesday by City Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar, all construction work within municipal limits will now be allowed only between 7 am and 9 pm, with immediate effect.
The civic administration stated that the decision comes in response to a surge in complaints related to construction-induced noise and air pollution. Officials warned that strict action, including stop-work notices, will be taken if complaints are found to be valid.
Focus on Public Health:
PMC officials have urged citizens affected by construction-related disturbances to report issues through the PMC Care helpline or the building permissions department. The move aims to ensure timely intervention and enforcement of regulations.
