Chandrapur, June 5, 2026: The core areas of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve will be closed from June 30 to September 30 due to the annual monsoon closure to tourists. The forest officials stated that this temporary ban is necessary to protect wildlife and ensure visitor safety during the rainy season.

Tourism activities in the reserve’s buffer zones will continue during the monsoon season, although access will depend on weather conditions and directions issued by the authorities from time to time.

Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director P.N. Shukla said that all buffer tourism gates and areas are likely to remain open for visitors during this period, while the core zones will stay closed from June 30 to September 30.

Shukla also rejected reports claiming that the reserve’s online booking website had been hacked. He advised tourists to use only the official booking portal for safari reservations.

His statement came after a social media post alleged that 80% of online safari tickets were being sold illegally. Forest officials denied the allegation as false and said a police complaint has been lodged against the misleading post.

Officials said the annual monsoon closure is a regular practice followed in wildlife reserves to protect animals during the breeding season and to ensure visitor safety amid heavy rains and challenging forest conditions.
