Pune, June 5, 2026: Residents of Undri have come together under the banner of the Undri Town Hall Forum to release a comprehensive 20-point Citizen Charter, calling on the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and elected representatives to address long-pending civic issues and ensure planned development of the rapidly growing suburb.

The charter highlights residents’ concerns over deteriorating infrastructure, inadequate civic amenities, environmental degradation, and public safety issues. Emphasizing that citizens contribute taxes and deserve quality services, the forum has demanded immediate and time-bound action on several key issues affecting the area.

Among the top priorities listed in the charter are the repair and redevelopment of damaged roads, preparation and implementation of a transparent Development Plan (DP), regular PMC water supply, and the creation of an efficient sewage and drainage network. Residents have also called for an end to dependence on costly private water tankers.

The forum has sought improvements in public transport connectivity, including expanded PMPML bus services, along with enhanced traffic management measures such as traffic signals, zebra crossings, speed breakers, and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.

Public safety has emerged as another major concern. The charter demands increased police patrolling, installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations, stronger measures against hooliganism and unlawful gatherings, and enhanced safety provisions for women through improved street lighting and surveillance.

Environmental issues also feature prominently in the document. Residents have urged authorities to develop parks, playgrounds, and recreational spaces while implementing effective rainwater management systems. The forum has also demanded protection of local water bodies from encroachments, illegal well digging, garbage dumping, misuse by water tankers, and other harmful activities.

To prevent accidents and improve safety around lakes, residents have called for fencing, barricading, and other protective measures. The charter also seeks strict enforcement against noise pollution and action against repeat offenders.

In addition, the forum has stressed the need for transparency and accountability in all civic projects and public spending. Residents have asked PMC and elected representatives to present a concrete action plan with clear timelines and provide regular updates on project implementation.

The Undri Town Hall Forum stated that residents are willing to actively participate and cooperate with authorities but expect visible results rather than assurances. The group has urged civic officials and public representatives to treat the charter as a roadmap for the area’s future development and ensure that basic civic amenities and safety standards are delivered without further delay.

The charter concludes with a strong appeal for accountable governance, stating that Undri residents are seeking action-oriented solutions to make the suburb safer, cleaner, and more liveable for all.
