Husband Booked For Brutal Assault With Tricycle On Wife Over ID Card Request

Pimpri-Chinchwad, June 11, 2026: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a man from Talegaon Dabhade has been booked for allegedly assaulting his wife with their young child’s tricycle after she asked him for an identification card required for government-related work.
The incident took place at Mantra City Society in Talegaon Dabhade and has sparked outrage due to the brutal nature of the attack.
According to police, a 37-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Talegaon Dabhade Police Station against her husband, identified as Sagar Pandharinath Rajguru, a resident of Khalde Mala, Talegaon Dabhade.
As per the complaint, the woman was at home on Monday evening when her husband arrived. She reportedly requested his identification card, stating that she and their child needed it to obtain government identity documents.
The simple request allegedly triggered an angry outburst from the accused. Police said he began arguing with his wife and told her that she should not use his name anywhere and should only do as he instructed.
When the woman questioned him regarding their marriage and his behaviour, the argument escalated. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly picked up his child’s three-wheeled tricycle and hurled it at his wife. He then repeatedly struck her on her hands and legs with the tricycle, causing serious injuries.
Following the assault, the injured woman approached the police and filed a complaint. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
Police are probing the matter under relevant sections related to domestic violence and assault.
