Lost Your PAN Card? Here’s How to Download e-PAN Online in Minutes
13 July, 2026: If you suddenly need your PAN card for banking, income tax filing, KYC verification or any other official work, you don’t have to look for the physical copy. The Income Tax Department provides several secure online options to download a digital version of your PAN card, known as e-PAN. This digital copy is legally valid and can be stored on your smartphone for quick access whenever required.
You can download your e-PAN through four official platforms, Protean (formerly NSDL), UTIITSL, the Income Tax Department’s e-Filing portal, and DigiLocker.

If your PAN card was issued through Protean, visit the official website and choose either your PAN number or acknowledgement number to proceed. Enter the required details, including Aadhaar information and date of birth, complete the OTP verification, and download the e-PAN in PDF format. If the PAN was issued more than 30 days ago, a nominal fee may apply.
Those whose PAN was issued through UTIITSL can also download their e-PAN by visiting the official UTIITSL portal. Users need to enter their PAN number, date of birth and captcha code, followed by OTP verification sent to their registered mobile number or email. Once verified, the digital PAN can be downloaded.
Individuals who have generated an Instant e-PAN using Aadhaar can download it free of cost through the Income Tax Department’s e-Filing portal. After selecting the Instant e-PAN option, users must enter their Aadhaar number, verify the OTP received on the Aadhaar-linked mobile number and download the document.
Another convenient option is DigiLocker. After logging into the DigiLocker app, users can search for their PAN card under the Income Tax Department’s documents, verify their identity and save the digital copy. Once linked, the e-PAN remains available for easy access whenever needed.
Keeping an e-PAN on your mobile phone can be helpful during financial transactions, tax-related work and identity verification. Since it is digitally stored, users can access it instantly without carrying the physical PAN card.
