Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced property tax relief schemes for women, disabled individuals, and ex-armymen residing within its limits.

Under these schemes, women will receive a 30 percent discount on general tax, while disabled individuals will receive a 50 percent discount. Ex-armymen will be eligible for a 100 percent discount on their property tax.

Citizens who have already benefited from these schemes in the previous year need not apply afresh. The schemes are aimed at providing financial relief to specific groups of individuals and encouraging timely payment of property tax.

In addition to the aforementioned discounts, PCMC has also introduced other concessions for property tax payers.

Advance property tax payers will receive a 5 percent discount, while property holders paying through online payment gateways, RTGS, NEFT, or IMPS will receive a 5 percent discount till June 30 and a 4 percent discount for payments made from July to September end.

Furthermore, residential properties implementing eco-friendly practices such as composting systems and sewage treatment plants will also be eligible for discounts ranging from 3 to 5 percent, depending on the type of system in place.

PCMC has also announced a 5 percent discount on general tax for properties newly registered in the assessment book during the current financial year.

Additionally, defense forces gallantry medal holders and ex-armymen will be eligible for a 100 percent concession in property tax, including general tax, sewerage benefit tax, water supply benefit tax, and road tax.

The municipal corporation has made all service facilities available online, including property tax payment options, to streamline the process for taxpayers. PCMC aims to collect ₹1,000 crore in property tax revenue for the financial year 2023-24, building on the success of collecting ₹817 crore in the previous year.

Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the various property tax relief schemes and discounts by paying their taxes in advance before June 30 to avoid any late fees.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh of PCMC urged that citizens should take advantage of the minimum ten percent and maximum 20 percent discount if the entire tax is paid by June 30. Citizens should pay tax in advance before June 30 to avoid two percent late fee for the following month.
