Pune News: Pune Metro awaits DPR approval for several proposed routes

Pune: The Pune Metro is awaiting approvals for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of various metro routes in the city.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director, Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro said, “The DPR approval for the Kharadi – Hadapsar – Swargate Khadakwasla Metro route and SNDT (Paud Road) – Warje – Manik Baug Metro route will be firstly given by the state government. After that, it will be sent to the central government. For Phase 1 extensions, the approvals of Metro routes of PCMC – Nigdi and Swargate – Katraj are pending on the Central level for which we are constantly taking follow-ups.”
As per information from Amol Deshpande, Technical Advisor to Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge & Twitter handle of Mahesh Landge, the DPR for the Metro route of Nashik Phata – Bhosari – Chakan is ready.
Deshpande also informed that the DPR is not yet ready for the following routes & we are in contact with Pune Metro to get it done as soon as possible:
· Nashik Phata – Pimple Saudagar – Wakad (merge into Hinjewadi – Shivaji Nagar metro route)
· Hinjewadi – Dange chowk – Nigdi – Talawade IT Park – Chakan
· Nigdi – Chikhali – Moshi – Charholi – Lohegaon – Wagholi
