Pune News : PMC Authorities Warn Road Engineers : Repair Roads or Face Stern Action

Pune: Citizens struggling with bad conditions of roads in the city are expected to get relief soon as Vikas Dhakne, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will inspect all the roads in Pune from July 20.
As per information, action will be taken against the junior engineers of the roads where there are potholes and other issues. The junior engineers will now have to face this action for their negligence towards improving road conditions in the city. The potholes filled roads and worn out chambers etc were expected to be repaired soon. But even today, there are thousands of potholes on all the roads in the city.
It is worthy to note that Vikram Kumar, Municipal Commissioner, PMC held a joint meeting with the road department, encroachment department, construction department, solid waste department etc and gave instructions to fill the potholes in the city and also repair them within four days. As a result, all the junior engineers of the road department have been instructed to work on war footing to clear potholes on fifteen main roads including Sinhagad Road, Baner Road, Katraj Road and more of the city. Instructions have been given to junior engineers along with all field officers to use cold mix in the next two to four days even in rain.
