Pune: Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), which is carrying out some of the major infrastructure projects in the state, intends to generate revenue through the monetization of land parcels along the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
As per information, along the expressway, 24 land parcels have been identified. 450 hectares of land will be leased out to finance major infrastructure projects, like Samruddhi Expressway, Pune Ring Road, Virar Alibaug Multimodal Corridor, Jalna Nanded Expressway, and more.
The land will be rented out for 99 years to monetize these projects. The process of setting up a plan for leasing lands along the expressway in the Pune & and Raigad districts is going on. The MSRDC land parcels were left vacant, so they decided to monetize them. A tender for the land parcel in Panvel will be launched, and the same will happen for Pune.
Pune Pulse contacted the relevant MSRDC Officials but were unavailable till the report was filed.
In Pune, the MSRDC owns 189 hectares of land, whereas it owns 262 hectares of land in Raigad which will be leased. Funds under this project will be used to speed up all major projects.
Land parcels in both districts belong to 12 villages. Some land parcels belong to MSRDC, while others have been allocated by the government to fund infrastructure projects.
The plan would be to offer tenders for long leases. Since the land parcels are near the expressway infrastructure, wayside facilities can be established or developers can go ahead with residential projects.
