Mumbai police announces restrictions from November 4 to December 3 ahead of festivals.

The Mumbai Police have recently announced stringent measures for the upcoming Diwali festival as a precautionary safety measure. 

To ensure public safety, a ban has been imposed on the use, sale, and flying of sky lanterns throughout the entire month.

As per the information provided, ban will be enforced from November 4 to December 3. Concerns have been raised by authorities, regarding the potential risks posed by sky lanterns, including the endangerment of lives and damage to public property.

Those found violating this ban will be subject to legal consequences under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, which may include imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to Rs 1,000, or both. Similar restrictions were implemented during the same period last year, showcasing the authorities’ dedication to guaranteeing public safety throughout Diwali.
