In a harrowing incident in Indore, the live-in partner of a 20-year-old woman was apprehended on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing her to death following her refusal to engage in physical relations, as confirmed by the police. The deceased and the accused had been cohabiting in a rented house in the city after connecting on Instagram, revealed a police official.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhinay Vishwakarma informed reporters that the woman met her tragic end on December 7 in their rented residence in the Raoji Bazaar area. Her lifeless body was discovered by law enforcement officials two days later, on December 9. The accused, identified as Praveen Singh Dhakad (24) from Guna district, flew into a rage when the victim declined physical intimacy, ultimately resorting to a fatal stabbing with a pair of scissors, according to Vishwakarma.
As a result of the attack, the woman suffered severe bleeding and succumbed to her injuries on the spot. In a panicked escape, Dhakad locked the house from the outside and absconded, also making off with the victim’s mobile phone, reported the police officer. The authorities successfully tracked and apprehended Dhakad after the heinous crime was brought to light.
