Viral Video: Woman feeling unsafe due to ticketless passengers overcrowding in First Tier AC Coach of train
A recent video posted on the micro blogging platform “X” (formerly Twitter) by a woman passenger by the name of Swati Raj as she describes the chaos in the First Tier AC Coach of Sikkim Mahananda Express as people without tickets had crowded inside the coach.
As per further information from the X handle of Swati Raj “This is the current situation of AC 1st tier of 15483 Sikkim Mahananda Express. I request management to check this immediately as we are not feeling safe when we are paying extra for it.”
Swati pointed to the packed corridor of the First Tier AC Coach where dozens of people were huddled together. She vented her annoyance and questioned the point of spending so much money when the compartment is crammed with people without tickets, depriving the paying patrons of quiet and natural light.
A lot of netizens have expressed their opinions about the incident.
An X user stated “If onboard TTE/RPF ain’t addressing this issue, keep pulling the chain to attract their attention. I’m sure RPF will sort this out. Although this should not have happened in the first instance.”
To this, Swati replied “We did contact them on 139, RPF came in one of the station to clear the rush but the stoppage was only for 2 mins so he couldn’t come inside to clear it. The problem is RPF should be present inside train to handle these kind of situations. From outside they can’t do much.”
An X user said “After paying a high price, the passengers face such troubles from trespassers. This is a shameful failure of Indian Railways. Ticket collectors (TCs) are very corrupt, and there is no security on trains. It is better to take a flight than to travel in such messy, crowded trains!”
Another X user commented “This is ridiculous. Must stop this nonsense immediately. How the hell can these people confidently board a train without a pass? And that too enter 1st Ac compartment? Am sure this is not possible without support of some TC’s or railway official.”
