Time after time, cases of individuals being slapped with fake criminal charges have come up. The motive of doing this is typically to extort a large sum of money. In particular, Indian model Suchitra Krishnamoorthi faced an ordeal regarding this.

Two days ago on Saturday, Krishnamoorthi took to social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a horrible experience she had with a policeman while on her way home from Navi Mumbai to Malad.

Around 8:15 pm, as soon as she turned right from WEH (Western Expressway Highway metro station) to go towards Malad station, a police officer halted her and instructed her to open the trunk of her car. She did as directed while sitting inside the car and as soon as she was about to come out of the car the police officer permitted her to go.

As she started driving again, in her rear-view mirror she saw that the police officer had immediately called up someone and was talking on the phone.

Sensing something fishy, Suchitra drove ahead and took the service lane, scouted for a brightly lit street lamp and put the brakes on her car, turned the engine off and went to open her trunk physically.

She was astounded to find two small zip-lock bags with white crystals inside her car trunk. She threw them away, grateful to have been saved from being framed in a fake drug case. Having said her prayers, she began driving again.

As suspected, there was another police officer on the following checkpoint almost half a mile later who once again instructed her to open her car trunk, she got down physically, opened her car trunk and to the ‘officer’s’ surprise, the planted drugs were no longer there.

In the tweet, she advised against opening the car trunk from the inside (even at malls) and urged everyone to always step out of their car and open their trunk from behind with the keys, so that they can oversee the search themselves and give permission accordingly.

Just three months ago, Delhi Police had caught fake cops from Champaran, Bihar duping people into submitting large sums of money to do away with false criminal charges that they had slapped on them.
