In a horrific revelation, a school employee attempted to sexually harass a ten year-old student. The school is regarded as one of the most esteemed schools in the Wagholi area.

The mother of the child has filed an official police complaint against the employee and so far a case has been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (2012), better known as POCSO.

After the student was dropped off at school on 19th April, the employee in question allegedly asked the student his name and whether he was watching a movie. He went on to say, “I will show you a movie, but you need to go to the toilet for that.” The child refused, after which the employee started forcing him.

Shaken by the employee’s actions, the student fled. Sometime later the employee re-entered the classroom and forcefully showed the child a pornographic website on his phone and warned the student against disclosing this to anyone.

The petrified child narrated the whole incident to his mother. Following this, the mother lodged the complaint and the case was registered under POCSO in the Lonikand Police station.

Investigations are underway and Kailash Kare, a senior police inspector, has commented on the situation saying that the police are examining the case. The accused was revealed to be a caretaker, yet the principal of the school has denied any such incident taking place in the school premises.

This is the second sexual harassment case against a minor being reported in the Wagholi area within the same month. Approximately 2 weeks ago, another shocking incident had come to light where it was revealed that a 40 year-old man was continuously raping a minor girl while she was alone at her house. The survivor’s mother lodged a complaint against the man on 7th April in the Lonikand police station and thereafter, a case was registered against him under POCSO. The accused had also threatened to murder the survivor.
