Archana Gaikwad has been appointed as the Regional Transport Officer at the Pune Road/Regional Transport Office (RTO) on June 13. As per information, the promotion order for all RTO officers in the state was issued on June 6. However, the order of Chandrapur and Pune was not issued. Therefore, on Thursday Gaikwad was appointed as the Regional Transport Officer.
She was previously the Deputy Regional Transport Officer of Akluj and held the Additional charge of Solapur. She was born and brought up in Solapur itself and has an engineering educational background.
Initially, Jalgaon Deputy Regional Transport Officer Shyam Lohi’s name was almost certain for the post of Pune RTO, but Archana Gaikwad won the race, and Shyam Lohi has been appointed as the Regional Transport Officer at the RTO office in Chandrapur.
The Pune RTO office is one of the most important and highest-earning RTO offices in the state, and hence there is a tug-of-war among officials to take charge of this office. In addition, the state government transferred Sanjiv Bhor, Pune’s previous deputy RTO, to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
Swapnil Bhosale has been appointed as Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pune and he took office charge on Thursday. Bhosale has earlier served as the Assistant Regional Transport Officer in Yavatmal, as well as the Assistant Transport Commissioner in the Transport Commissioner’s Office, Mumbai.
