Pune, July 13: In a significant bust, Loni Kalbhor police have apprehended Prakash Ranganath Torane (63) for illegally practicing medicine for five years under the guise of “Janseva Clinic” in the Pandavdand area of Kadamwakvasti. The accused, originally from Padegaon, Shrirampur in Nagar district, had been residing in Kadamwakvasti, Haveli.

The arrest followed a complaint by Dr. Rupali Raghunathrao Bhangale (38), a medical officer at the Loni Kalbhor Primary Health Center, based in Kalepadal, Hadapsar, Pune. Dr. Bhangale received a tip-off from Dr. Suresh Gore, Taluka Health Officer of Haveli, about Torane’s unauthorized possession of medical equipment and medications.

Acting on the information, Dr. Rupali Bhangale, accompanied by Dr. Mahesh Waghmare, Community Health Officer Dr. Manoj Ubre, and the Loni Kalbhor police, conducted a raid at Janseva Clinic. During the investigation, Torane failed to produce any valid medical credentials or certification from the Maharashtra Council of Medicine.
