A widespread Windows 10 outage has been reported globally, attributed to a recent update from cybersecurity software firm Crowdstrike. The update has resulted in numerous PCs being immobilized on the recovery screen, leaving users with the message, “It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly. If you’d like to restart and try again, choose Restart my PC below.”

This issue has significantly disrupted operations across various sectors, with reports of the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) surfacing from banking institutions, supermarkets, and media companies, particularly in the United States. Notably, several TV and radio studios have been impacted, with some going offline, as reported by a news agency. 

Causes and Impact:
While the exact cause of the outage remains unconfirmed, Crowdstrike has acknowledged the occurrence of BSoD errors and is actively investigating the matter.

In India, several large multinational companies have reported similar issues. According to a top executive quoted by the Hindustan Times, users across their network are experiencing these problems, which appear to be limited to Windows-based desktops and laptops.

One user shared their experience on social media, stating, “Something super weird is happening right now: just been called by several totally different media outlets in the last few minutes, all with Windows machines suddenly BSoD’ing (Blue Screen of Death). Anyone else seen this? Seems to be entering recovery mode.”
