20-year-old member severely injured after gym trainer hit with equipment on head

A gym trainer in Mumbai has been arrested for attacking and severely injuring a member with exercising equipment inside the premises.
The incident took place at Fitness Intelligence Gym in Mumbai’s Mulund (East) on Wednesday,
July 17, in the evening at around 6 pm.
A 20-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a Mudgar (a wooden club used by wrestlers for resistance training) on head. It is like a dumbbell but is a traditional Indian exercise tool and considered quite heavy.
The incident was caught on CCTV installed inside the gym. The gym trainer has been identified as Dhawal, and the victim has been identified as Vilas Shinde.

Mumbai Police registered a complaint and arrested the accused. The video shows that the trainer allegedly attacked Shinde while standing and talking to other members and trainers present at the gym.
Shinde was seen holding his head in pain. He was surprised as he did not expect that the trainer would attack him with the equipment. It seems that the trainer might have gotten offended due to some joke cracked against him.
The exact cause of the alleged attack remains unknown.
The victim was rushed to a hospital. After undergoing an MRI scan, the victim learnt that he suffered from two fractures on the left side of his skull and several other deep injuries in the brain.
It is pertinent to note that Shinde has been a member of the gym for the past two years.
