The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to take stringent action against Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited, owned by the Khedkar family, for significant tax evasion and unauthorized establishment in a red zone.
Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited, owned by the Khedkar family and located in Jyotiba Nagar, Talwade, has defrauded the PCMC of Rs 2.77 lakh in taxes over the past two years. This significant tax evasion has prompted the municipal authorities to launch a detailed investigation into the company’s financial and operational activities.
In addition to tax fraud, it was discovered that the Khedkar family had illegally set up the company in a red zone, violating municipal regulations. This unauthorized establishment has raised further concerns about the company’s compliance with local laws and regulations.
Pooja Khedkar, a member of the Khedkar family, used the company’s address to obtain a disability certificate from Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital under false pretenses. This misuse of the address has added to the list of fraudulent activities linked to the family.
The PCMC, led by Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, has indicated that confiscation action is likely to be taken against Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited. Given the company’s tax evasion and unauthorized establishment, the municipal corporation is expected to seal the premises and recover the dues.
The fraudulent activities and unauthorized establishment have led to serious legal implications for the Khedkar family. Manorama Khedkar, Pooja’s mother, was recently arrested in Raigad for threatening a farmer with a gun over a land dispute. Her husband, Dilip Khedkar, remains absconding. The ongoing legal issues further complicate the family’s position and amplify the gravity of their fraudulent activities.
The PCMC’s impending actions against Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited highlight the municipality’s commitment to enforcing regulations and cracking down on fraudulent activities.
