A shocking case of domestic abuse disguised as a game surfaces in Mumbai
A horrifying incident of domestic abuse disguised as a game of ‘Truth and Dare’ has come to light in Mumbai. A woman has accused her husband of forcing her to strip in front of his friends under the guise of the game, escalating into severe domestic violence over the years.
The disturbing saga began in 2011 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, when Amrita (name changed), a visual effects artist, met Akshay (name changed), a pilot for an international airline, at a social event. The two fell in love and maintained a relationship for eight years. In 2019. They got married and moved to Kolkata before eventually settling in Mumbai. Amrita found work as a visual effects artist in the film industry, and for a while, everything seemed fine.
However, things took a dark turn when Akshay began inviting his friends over for parties and insisted on playing ‘Truth and Dare.’ During these games, Akshay would force Amrita to fulfill obscene demands in front of his friends. Whenever the bottle pointed towards Amrita, Akshay would dare her to strip. Initially, Amrita thought her husband was joking but soon realized the gravity of the situation when Akshay began forcing her to comply.
Refusing to strip led to physical abuse from Akshay. For five years, Amrita endured this cruelty. She faced violence whenever she tried to protest. The situation continued until they moved to Khora, Gujarat. Determined not to remain silent any longer, Amrita lodged a complaint with the Adalaj police in Gujarat.
In her complaint, Amrita accused Akshay of domestic violence. The police have assured a thorough investigation and strict action against the perpetrator. Inspector K.B. Shankhla of the Adalaj police station confirmed that an FIR has been filed and statements will be recorded soon.
