Pimpri-Chinchwad Residents Urge Immediate Road Repairs at Jan Samwad Meeting
During the latest Jan Samvad meeting hosted by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), residents voiced their concerns over various infrastructure issues, urging immediate action from the civic body. The primary demands included repairing potholes, improving water drainage on roads during monsoon, ensuring adequate water supply pressure, fixing drainage systems, and conducting thermal fumigation to curb insect-borne diseases.
Additionally, residents called for the repair of street lights on internal roads, the prevention of water stagnation in drains and sewers, and the removal of encroachments from footpaths. The Jan Samvad Sabha, held twice monthly on the second and fourth Monday, serves as a crucial platform for residents to communicate their grievances and suggestions. Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal commissioner and administrator Shekhar Singh directed officials to address all issues raised during these meetings. The president and chief coordinator of the Jan Samvad Sabha attended the meeting to oversee and evaluate the proceedings.
The Jan Samvad Sabha continues to play a vital role in enhancing communication between citizens and the administration, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
During the recent session, a total of 48 complaints were registered across various regional offices: A – 14, B – 8, C – 2, D – 4, E – 1, F – 5, G – 10, and H – 4. These complaints and suggestions will be reviewed and acted upon to improve municipal services and infrastructure.
Citizens Urged to Support ‘Beat Dengue’ Campaign
The PCMC has also initiated the ‘Beat Dengue’ campaign, aiming to eliminate dengue and ensure the city remains dengue-free. The campaign emphasizes preventing mosquito breeding around homes, raising awareness about dengue and other insect-borne diseases, and reporting dengue cases to municipal hospitals. Residents are advised to eliminate stagnant water in and around their homes and to maintain clean and dry water storage containers.
The municipal corporation appeals to all residents to adopt these preventive measures to protect themselves and their families. Active cooperation is vital for the success of this campaign and achieving a dengue-free city.
