Pune – Manoj Jarange Patil, a prominent figure in the Maratha reservation advocacy, is set to lead a significant peace rally in Pune on August 11. The event, anticipated to draw over 250,000 members of the Maratha community from both Pune city and the surrounding district, is being organized by the Akhand Maratha Samaj Pune District.

The rally’s logistics were solidified during a pivotal meeting at Chandni Chowk on July 7, where it was confirmed that Jarange Patil would head an awareness campaign focused on Maratha reservation issues. Coordination between Maratha leaders and the Police Commissioner ensured that all arrangements are in place for the event.

The rally will kick off at 11 AM from the Ganpati Temple in Sarasbaug. It will proceed along Bajirao Road and Appa Balwant Chowk, culminating at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Military School, where Jarange Patil will pay homage to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Following this, the procession will continue towards Deccan via Jangli Maharaj Road, with a tribute to the statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and a speech by Jarange Patil at Tilak Chowk (Alka Talkies Chowk).

To manage the expected crowd, parking has been arranged at the riverfront area and in the grounds of nearby schools and colleges. The organizers have invited the Maratha community to join the rally with their families.

The rally welcomes current and former municipal councilors, MLAs, MPs, and leaders from various political parties, provided they participate as supporters of the Maratha cause rather than representing any political affiliations. Organizers have requested that attendees refrain from displaying political symbols or positions and focus solely on supporting the Maratha community.
