Pune: The ‘Aapli PMPML’ mobile app, launched by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) on August 15, 2024, has significantly enhanced the city’s public transport experience, generating ₹20 crore in revenue with over 9 lakh users. Initially available only for Android, the app has now been extended to iOS devices, further expanding its reach.
Designed to improve commuting convenience, the app offers a range of features, including real-time bus tracking, route planning, online ticket booking, and complaint registration. Commuters have praised the app for streamlining travel, reducing wait times, and eliminating the need for physical tickets.
Speaking about its success, PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Deepa Mudhool Munde stated, “We are committed to further improving services by integrating both bus and metro ticketing within the app. Our goal is to provide a seamless, hassle-free travel experience to Pune’s citizens.”
The app’s revenue milestone, achieved on January 27, 2025, highlights the growing role of digital solutions in public transport. With nearly a million downloads, ‘Aapli PMPML’ has become an essential tool for daily commuters, encouraging a shift toward efficient and sustainable transportation.
