Accused arrested for stealing stamps from Sassoon Hosptial and creating fake certificates

Pune: The Bund Garden police have arrested an accused for stealing stamps from Sassoon Hospital and creating fake medical certificates. The other accused is still at large.

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, Sassoon Hospital Medical Officer Dr Shailesh Damshetty had filed a complaint on December 20 (Wednesday) at Bund Garden Police Station. A case has been registered against accused Prakash Pandurang Mondkar and Satpal Pawar. Accused Prakash Mondkar has been arrested by the police.

Both the accused had come to Sassoon Hospital on December 14 (Thursday). They stole stamps from the Medical superintendent’s office in Sassoon on December 14. After the matter came to light, Dr Shailesh Damshetty filed a complaint at Bund Garden police station.

The medical superintendent accessed the CCTV footage of the office & found out about the accused stealing the stamps. So, when co-accused Prakash Mondkar came to the hospital again, he was identified & taken to the Bund Garden Police Station. There, the stamps were found from Mondkar. Also, fake medical certificates were found from Mondkar on which the stamps were used.

A case has been registered under Sections 34, 379, 464, 465, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is going on.
