'Ready Reckoner' rates to be available online in Maharashtra; Know more

Just by the click of a button and sitting in the comfort of your homes, you can soon access the ready reckoner rates of any government or private lands in any city or village in Maharashtra. 

The Department of  Registration and stamps has developed ‘Jio portal’. 

As per information, 22 districts including Pune, 400 municipal corporations have uploaded the data so far.  This facility will start from January 2024. As a result, citizens will get to know the re-calculator of land in different areas of different cities at a ‘click’ from their homes.

What is ‘Ready Reckoner’?

‘Ready Reckoner’ means the fixed price of a land as per the government. The state government has the power to determine the ‘Ready Reckoner’. It fixes the rates of ‘ready reckoner’ jointly by the Town Planning Department, and Registration Stamps Department.

Till now, one has to go to the office of the sub-registrar to find out the ready reckoner of properties like land, houses, and flats in the city along with each village. One has to go there and fill out the printed application along with the property card or 7/12 of the concerned area. Thereafter, the rate of ready reckoner is withdrawn on the next day or at the convenience of the local staff. Hence, all this is going to stop due to ‘ready reckoner’ rates going to be available online.

The Registration Stamp Duty Department has started developing the ‘Jio Portal’ for the convenience of crores of citizens of the state to know the rates of ‘Ready Reckoner’ at one ‘click’. This work has been going on for the last one and a half years. However, this work has gained momentum since six months. To make the rates of ‘Ready Reckoner’ easy to understand, it has been divided into three phases. rural, urban; Also the impact areas are included in three stages.

Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Center (MRSAC) has a Geo Information System (GIS) map of every part of the state by group number. Information on ‘ready reckoner’ for that part is available from the Registration Stamp Duty Department. Both those information are being integrated.

This work is currently being done through them with the help of ‘MRSAC’. So far, the work of uploading the ready reckoner of 22 districts which are city municipalities in the state has been done. 

The remaining 13 districts are yet to be updated. Officials of the Registration and Stamp Department said that the work could be completed in the next year
