Air Arabia flight makes emergency landing at Nagpur Airport as passenger vomits blood

Pune: A Bangladesh-bound Air Arabia flight made an unscheduled landing at the Nagpur airport after a 60-year-old passenger fell ill in the aircraft.

The flight was heading to Chittagong in Bangladesh from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was redirected to Nagpur and the ailing passenger was immediately attended to by medical staff at the airport and later admitted to a city hospital.  As per the information, the passenger had two episodes of vomiting blood in the aircraft. In order to prevent the passengers’ condition from getting worse, the pilot decided to declare a medical emergency and land the plane at Nagpur Airport. The Nagpur Airport Authority approved an emergency landing after being informed.

Now, the passenger is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Nagpur. At 7 am, two hours after the passenger received medical attention, an Air Arabia flight departed for Chittagong.

The aircraft left for its destination at around 7.15 am.

It is worthy to note that the Bangladeshi passenger experienced a cardiac arrest in the past few days during the trip. However, according to officials, the emergency landing was performed in order to prevent any further accidents throughout the journey.
