Air India Flight From Kochi Skids Off Runway During Mumbai Landing
New Delhi, June 13, 2025 — Air India has diverted or returned at least 16 international flights after Iran abruptly closed its airspace following a major Israeli airstrike on Tehran. The airline cited passenger safety as the top priority amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The airspace restriction, imposed on Friday morning, comes after Israel launched a series of strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Iranian state media confirmed the death of General Hossein Salami, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, along with several other top military officials and scientists.
