Air India Plane Crash In Ahmedabad: MP Sunil Tatkare’s Relative Aparna Mahadik Was Part Of Cabin Crew
A devastating plane crash took place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, involving an Air India passenger flight. Among those on board was Aparna Mahadik, who served as a crew member. She is the wife of Amol Tatkare, nephew of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Sunil Tatkare.
The aircraft, a London-bound Air India flight carrying 242 people, including 10 crew members, crashed just minutes after taking off around 1:30 PM. The crash occurred near Meghaninagar, a densely populated locality, from an altitude of 700 feet. The plane, loaded with fuel for the long journey, exploded upon impact, causing a massive fire. Eyewitness videos show heavy smoke rising from the crash site.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also on the flight.

The aircraft’s captain, Sumit Sabharwal, had issued a Mayday call before the crash. He had over 8,200 flight hours of experience. The last signal from the aircraft was received at 1:38 PM — just seven minutes after takeoff.
Rescue operations are underway, though fears of significant loss of life remain high.
