The comedian shared an unfiltered account of body image struggles, rapid results, side effects and why she refuses to recommend weight-loss drugs casually.

Comedian and content creator Aishwarya Mohanraj has revealed that she lost 22 kg in six months after using Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a prescription injection originally meant for type 2 diabetes and chronic weight management. While weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro are increasingly trending online, Mohanraj’s story stood out for its honesty and for her firm refusal to treat her experience as advice.

In a 15-minute YouTube video, she shared her journey with a clear disclaimer about body image and insecurity. Reflecting on growing up, she said, “I’ve grown up a skinny child,” adding that being thin was never questioned because “the world is built for skinny girls.”

Her struggles intensified in her late 20s, with one insecurity dominating her self-image: her double chin. Mohanraj revealed she tried multiple cosmetic procedures including CoolSculpting, HIFU, RF, Morpheus, Dermage, and even considered a neck lift.

At the start of 2025, she committed to lifestyle changes like hiring a trainer and nutritionist, working out daily, cutting junk food, increasing protein, and walking 10,000 steps a day. She felt better and lost inches, but the scale did not shift significantly.

Then came setbacks. She was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and high uric acid levels, forcing her to slow down. The pause led to burnout, demotivation, and weight regain. After reviewing blood reports with her doctor on May 8, she decided to try Mounjaro.

The results were rapid: 1 kg in the first week, 4 kg in the first month, and 22 kg in six months, dropping from 74 kg to 52 kg. But she also described side effects including nausea, appetite suppression, and noticeable hair loss linked to fast weight loss. She added that her periods became regular for the first time in years.

Crucially, Mohanraj stressed she is not endorsing the drug. “I’m not recommending jack shit,” she said, repeatedly urging viewers to consult doctors. She also highlighted the cost around ₹4,000 per injection, making it inaccessible for many.

Her disclosure drew mixed reactions online, with some praising her transparency in a space filled with unrealistic fitness narratives.

Disclaimer: Weight-loss drugs like Mounjaro must only be used under qualified medical supervision, as they can carry serious side effects and are not suitable for everyone.
