Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently celebrated her daughter Aaradhya’s 13th birthday, coinciding with her late father Krishnaraj Rai’s birth anniversary. Sharing heartfelt moments on Instagram, Aishwarya posted pictures of Aaradhya bowing in respect before her grandfather’s portrait and a family photo with her mother, Brindya Rai. A throwback image of Aishwarya cradling a newborn Aaradhya also touched fans deeply.
The birthday celebration, held in Mumbai, was documented in another photo, with Aishwarya penning an emotional caption:
“Happy birthday to the eternal love of my life, dearest daddy-ajjaa, and my darling Aaradhya. My heart, my soul… forever and beyond.”
However, Abhishek Bachchan’s absence from the pictures and the event sparked further speculation about the couple’s relationship. Fans questioned his whereabouts, with some noting the absence of Amitabh Bachchan as well.
Reports of marital discord between Aishwarya and Abhishek have been circulating for months. Speculations intensified when the couple arrived separately at a high-profile wedding in July. Abhishek further fueled rumours by liking an Instagram post discussing the rise of “grey divorces,” a term referring to separations after age 50.
The post he liked explored why long-term marriages dissolve and the challenges faced by couples who part ways after decades together. It read:
“Divorce is never easy for anyone. Who doesn’t dream of a happily-ever-after? Yet, sometimes life doesn’t unfold as we hoped. But how do people cope when they separate after spending significant portions of their lives together?”
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan married in April 2007 and welcomed Aaradhya in November 2011. Over the years, they have worked together in several films, including Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010).
So far, neither Aishwarya nor Abhishek has commented on the divorce rumours, leaving fans to wonder about the future of one of Bollywood’s most iconic couples.
