Pimpri Saudagar (Ward 28) – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President Ajit Pawar emphasized the need for capable and visionary leadership for the overall development of Pimpri Saudagar, stating that this election focuses on selecting leaders who address local issues rather than national politics.

At the candidate announcement event, Pawar introduced senior corporators Vitthal “Nana” Kate, Umesh Kate, Sheetal Kate, and Meenakshi Kate as the NCP nominees for the ward. A large number of senior citizens attended the event to support the candidates.

Pawar praised Nana Kate’s leadership, noting his pivotal role in establishing Pimpri Saudagar as a recognized development zone. “True leadership is being available 24/7 for the people, and Nana Kate embodies this in guiding the ward,” he said. He highlighted the ward’s development journey, starting from the Hinjewadi IT Park, and stressed the importance of efficiency, honesty, and a clear vision in leadership.

On infrastructure, Pawar mentioned approved or ongoing projects, including underpasses and flyovers at Nasik Phata–Jagtap Dairy Road, Pike Chowk, Kokne Chowk, and Shivar Chowk. He also assured that efforts will be made post-election to open the Kunjir Chowk–Rakshak Chowk road.

Plans for senior citizens include a dedicated recreation center, while a 3.5-acre multipurpose cultural hall near the bus depot will serve as a hub for community activities. Pawar expressed confidence that the Pavnna Dam-fed pipeline and three large water tanks will ease water scarcity in the area.

On environmental initiatives, he highlighted thousands of banyan and peepal trees planted in 2011–2012, the 3.5 km linear urban garden, and the “Seven Wonders” garden featuring replicas of global wonders. Additionally, work is underway on a four-acre yoga park and climbing wall, which will also house a senior citizens’ center.

Pawar lauded Nana Kate’s dedication, noting his 24/7 availability even during COVID-19 and his efforts to assist residents in need. He urged citizens to support the NCP to achieve a clean, smart, pollution-free, traffic-free city with transparent governance.
